After centuries in disarray, the continent of Erosil is on the brink of war. The King of Estron has seized the city of Runo, and his rival has no option but to take action. The King of Jacarcia rallies Erosil behind him to reclaim his home and avenge the death of his sister.
A smuggler, brought up by the Frost of Tress, is captured and brought to Estron. He claims to be the missing Prince Solomon, heir to the kingdom. The king has another heir, however, one who is determined to leave a greater legacy than both his supposed brother and his father.
The First Prince of Jacarcia is captured by the forces of Estron, relying upon his father's elven allies to save him. He vows that upon his release that neither of his rival princes will ever join Man's Lands.
